Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie
Posted by Ethan Boldt on
Mint chocolate chip … perhaps one of your favorite ice creams growing up but now you steer clear of this sickly sweet, nutritionally bankrupt dessert. Instead, start your day with a healthy mint chocolate chip smoothie!
While green smoothies remain all the rage — and for good reason, given how nutritious they can be — have you tried the combination of greens and chocolate? They marry very well, as the greens flavor gets tempered by the chocolate. Even better is that this smoothie includes eight outstanding ingredients, headlined by Organic Supergreens and Vanilla Bone Broth Protein.
Key Ingredients
Organic Supergreens: You’ll find entirely organic ingredients, such as grass juices and spirulina, along with powerful probiotics to help with digestive health, detoxification and nutrient absorption.
Vanilla Bone Broth Protein: With a slightly sweet vanilla flavor, it's 3x more potent than homemade broth and twice as potent compared to the leading bone broth brands (based on protein content)/
Banana: Bananas are a great source of several essential nutrients, including potassium, magnesium, fiber and more.
Avocado: This fruit (yep, not a vegetable!) provides a hearty dose of important nutrients, such as fiber, healthy fats, potassium and vitamin K.
Almond milk: A great alternative to milk and incredibly versatile, it contains half a day’s recommended intake of vitamin E, a significant amount of vitamin D (if store-bought) and a hearty dose of calcium.
Coconut milk yogurt: This lactose-free yogurt supplies your gut with lots of beneficial bacteria.
Mint leaves: Mint generally contains a good amount of vitamin A and other important nutrients like iron and manganese.
Cacao nibs: A genuine superfood, cacao nibs are one of the best sources of polyphenols and have more antioxidant activity than tea, wine, blueberries and even goji berries.
How to Make A Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie
Add banana, avocado, vanilla-flavored Bone Broth Protein powder, Organic Supergreens, almond milk, coconut milk yogurt, mint leaves* and ice to a high speed blender and process until smooth.
Pour smoothies into two glasses and stir in cacao nibs or chocolate chips with a spoon. Top with optional coconut whipped cream and sprinkle more cacao nibs/chocolate chips on top.
*If you prefer more a more robust mint flavor, you can always add in more mint leaves to your smoothie.
